My counselling approach is centred around you, focussing on you and what you wish to gain from therapy.
I offer a calm and non-judgmental space for you to explore the difficulties you are experiencing, helping you to gain a deeper understanding of them and enabling you to find ways to cope better with your personal situation.
“When you are a Bear of Very Little brain, and you Think Things, you find sometimes that a Thing which seemed very Thingish inside you is quite different when it gets out into the open and has other people looking at it.”
I am a BACP Humanistic counsellor based in Horsham and Dorking, and I understand how difficult the first step can be when making contact with a counsellor.
Sometimes life can feel like a constant struggle. Counselling gives you the space and opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings.
I offer a calm, non-judgemental and confidential space for you to make sense of the problems you may be facing right now. I aim to help you find ways of coping better with the present, and gain a deeper understanding of yourself, increasing your self-esteem and confidence, thus allowing you to move forward to a more fulfilled way of living.
I strongly believe in the power we all have within ourselves to grow and make a difference in our lives. As your therapist I will aim to facilitate and encourage you to trust yourself, make your own choices and find your own answers.
In addition to my private practice, I work for the NHS Youth Counselling Service (NHS Trust Surrey and Borders) in a busy GP’s Surgery. I also work one day as a Counsellor in a Place2Be school working with 5-11year olds.
